In addition to the regular Services during Holy Week, and Bishop Bob’s Maunday Thursday Service at St Congan’s, Good Friday held what has become the ‘Traditional’ Walk of Witness, initiated by St Congan’s Canon Palmer a few years ago, starting at St Congan’s Church in Devron Road and proceeding through the Town stopping for prayers, readings and hymns at St Ninian and Forglen Church, the Square, the Turra Coo finally arriving at St Andrew’s Church where the ‘Walkers were also provided with refreshments of hot cross buns and tea or coffee. Representatives of six Churches took part in the walk which was blessed with warm sunshine!
St Congan’s Churchyard hosted a ‘Sunrise Service’ on Easter Sunday taken by the St Ninian and Forglen Church who also provided breakfast following the Service to which all were welcome.
