St Congan’s pass on Posada Dolls to St John’s, Cuminestown

PosadaPosada is traditionally where a Mary and Joseph doll travel around the Parish during Advent seeking hospitality in people’s homes. The plan is to run a Diocesan Posada this year, involving all the nativity characters and in all 42 Churches. They will start in Orkney, Shetland and Braemar and end up at the Cathedral for Christmas Eve, and Inverurie for Epiphany.

This is a great way to connect with children on the fringes of our Churches or ouin Turrifft in the community.DSCF1807

DSCF1803Mary Murray (right), who received three dolls from St Andrews, Banff, in turn handed over the dolls to Ann McIlwraith on the 10th December in St Congan’s Church. Ann will take the dolls to St John’s, Cuminestown and  will forward them in turn to Fyvie.

Another great way to connect with children is the Christingle service which takes place at St Congan’s on the  13th December when the collection will be donated to the Aberlour Child Care Trust. Following the service and the distribution of the Christingles  there will be a finger buffet with tea and coffee.
